Dear Self Published Author,

May 26 through May 31 marks the dates for the Book Expo New York. Forty to sixty thousand book store owners, book store buyers, publishers and distributors will descend on this convention with purchase orders in hand. Don't miss this opportunity to get your self published book in the front of the people who can place it on the shelves of retailers around the country.

Poster Kraze has a booth at the expo and is seeking individual self published authors to showcase their books. Three hundred dollars per author and fifty dollars per book after the first book is all it costs to join us. We will represent each book in our collective and promote it vehemently while attempting to attract buyers, buyers and more buyers.

Our deadline to get in on the New York show is this Saturday, so Call Us TODAY! All we need is twelve books, your personal bio and photo and your willingness to get your book exposed. We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express plus Pay Pal. The price also includes the Black Heritage Festival in Baltimore, American Library Association's Chicago Convention, the Printer's Row book sale and all other events that we participate in this season.

Our number is (313) 44-Obama (313) 446-2262

DON'T LET THIS OPPORTUNITY PASS BYE!

Mike

Lulu publishes on demand. That means that you only have to buy one proof copy before getting published by Lulu. If you want an ISBN or a distribution package, you have to pay for those. If you have some marketing skills you can sell by word of mouth both in person and on the internet. My regular email signature includes a URL to my book at Lulu where people can make a purchase. I've provided access to the book on my blog which has the same title as that of the book. To publish on Lulu, first you format your manuscript to publishing specifications for your particular needs, using MS Word or Adobe Acrobat. If you use Word, lulu.com has provision for converting your manuscript to Acrobat. Then you design the cover using their system or design your own. All along the way you have access to professionals who, for a fee will help you. Does this answer your questions Linda?

MMS Newswire-Detroit,MI (August 20, 2008)--ChocolatePagesNetwork.com, a new online social networking community, allows its member to connect with each other, learn more about the book industry and share personal trials and triumphs in book promotion.

ChocolatePagesNetwork.com founder Pam Perry, said, "Here members will find literary PR experts and fellow authors who are willing to share tips on how to get out there." Perry is a literary publicist, agent and pioneer in the ministry marketing field. Her company, Ministry Marketing Solutions Inc., works with publishers and self-published authors targeting the African American Christian market.

Christian authors, aspiring authors, book club members, book industry professionals, book store owners, freelance writers, graphic artists, journalists, multi-media professionals, publicists and readers will now have the ability to share a platform and connect with one another in a ministry and industry forum.

"The ChocolatePagesNetwork.com site is unique because it is the only site that provides a social media community for people with a wide range of interests and experience in the book industry - while also encouraging members with Christian love and prayer as they market the message of Jesus," said Perry.

As a social media web site, ChocolatePagesNetwork.com lets members interact and connect with similar skills and interests while also expanding their databases of professional contacts.

"There are so many gifted, anointed writers out there just waiting to be recognized by the world," said Perry.

"With ChocolatePagesNetwork.com, people never need give up their hopes and dreams. Our site will take them to the next level, using the power of social networking to get recognized and get connected."

There will also be cross promotion on ChocolatePagesNetwork.com with Blogtalkradio.com on The Chocolate Pages Show as well as on other web 2.0 sites such as Myspace, LinkedIn and Facebook.

Promotion on ChocolatePagesNetwork.com will help people gain exposure for their books which will equate with more book signings, sales and speaking opportunities as well as allowing for the exchange of ideas, innovative branding advice and prayer.

"We encourage everyone to promote their talent and their work via blogs, video or by posting a news item or calendar events. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. We are the children of the dream. Our time has come - and this social network is part of what will make it come true," concluded Perry.

Reading Black?

When I was a kid I read lots of books. Did you?

I was the book worm, the nerd, the geek, the brown kid with four eyes. Yeah, I got picked on for reading 'too much.' It bothered me a little, don't get me wrong, but not enough to stop me from reading.

I read anything I could get my hands on. Strawberry Girl, 1984, Black Boy, Popular Mechanics, Campus Life, Vogue Knitting, the encyclopedia. The topic didn't matter. I just liked reading. It was an escape. It was my lifeline. Truth be told, it didn… Continue

Do You Want to Be Right or Reconciled?

Reconnecting, a process

Reconciliation, simply put, is based on the assumption that at one point there was a connection. The information below is given to help us move forward, with hope and excitement, toward that reconnection.

Listen. Learn. Love.

1. Educate yourself.

* Study the scriptures, what do they have to say about race and racism. I challenge you to start with these scriptures with racial reconciliation in mind: 2 Corinthians 5:16-21, John 4:3-9, John 5:23-24,… Continue

One More Step

“We want to publish your book.”

Those are golden words, especially to someone who has waited for 10 years to hear them. Yesterday a friend of mine heard those words for the first time. She won't see the book until 2010, but it didn't matter, we all celebrated anyhow.

Did my friend know as she pulled into the fast food line for lunch that her agent would call? No. Did she know as she showered that morning or said goodbye to her husband or dropped their daughter off at school befor… Continue
