About Me:
Brooks J. Young is the author of No More Band-Aids: Stop the Cover-Up, Executive Director of Touching Heart which was established in 2004, and Editor in Chief of Victorious Magazine, a subsidiary of Victorious Enterprise over which Ms. Young serves as Founder/CEO. In addition, she hosts the Victorious Voice Radio Show, and also serves as a Motivational Speaker. Behind her bubbly personality and the strong face she puts forth is a story of trial and tribulation, and prosperity, loss, and humility which enabled God to humble her and instill the passion for Christ that we see in her today. She has overcome heartache and emotional turmoil but is thankful for her experiences as they led to her dedication to helping women transform their lives through the teachings of Jesus, and encouraging others to uncover the perfect and unique plan of destiny God has purposed for their lives.

Ms. Young's personal mission supports the slogan carried by Restoring Faith, Building Hope! Through the ministry of Touching Heart, Brooks hopes to restore faith and build hope in the lives of all women with whom she comes into contact - those who are hurting and those who are struggling to both recover from events in their pasts and forgive those who have caused them pain. Showing and instructing women on how to walk in their purpose without fear and depend on God in EVERY aspect of their life is her reason for pressing forward and reaching out.

Born and raised in Mount Clemens, Michigan, Ms. Young found herself met with many challenges within herself and eventually began to realize that there was something about her life that was not quite right. Despite her generous heart and her yearning for pure love, God was not the head of her life. She saw no real need for God in her life because due to her circumstances, she had never felt the need to depend on Him... Life had dealt her a hand with very few boundaries and so much ambition that whatever path she chose, she was certain to succeed. However, after going through a painful divorce, she found herself in a place she had never known before: alone, and feeling empty. It was then that she began a journey which led to her Christian conversion and baptism on March 15, 2006. The message delivered by her former Pastor on that day will forever be emblazoned on her heart. It was "Delayed, but Not Denied!"

Through the loss of her beloved Father in February 2007, she found herself desperately seeking God's face and many painful and trying experiences later, she found that God had blessed her with a situation that forced her to depending solely on God in her finances, relationships, ministry, and every other area of her life. Brooks slowly began to reflect back on the sermon that had touched her so deeply and realized that faith was exactly what she needed to make her whole. Brooks now allows her life to be led by the Spirit as she seeks to have other women to realize that they may be delayed, but God has not denied them!

Her book, No More Band-Aids: Stop the Cover-Up, was born of a vision and will prove to empower and enlighten women who are walking in the footsteps which she has seen lead to the destruction of lives and families in the past. Her life will be a sounding block for the Kingdom of Heaven as God continues to build her in the Spirit and bless her to be a blessing in the lives of others. Brooks is a visionary, a speaker, and an author, but most importantly, she is a woman of God and a work in progress! She is available to travel for speaking engagements and conferences. As a Certified Grant writer, Brooks also offers her experience and knowledge by contributing to training expos and women's empowerment groups.

Among her current endeavors include a Women’s Bible study empowerment series and a non-profit startup instruction eBook. Ms. Young's life revolves around witnessing to others about the goodness of God, and leaning on His promise in keeping with 1 Corinthians 2:9 that "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love him." Brooks' life is a sounding block for women who are ready to accept Christ as God continues to build her in the Spirit and bless her to be a blessing in the lives of others.

Healing: The Real Issue

Healing. That is something that I needed to do. I had to do. I was in a whirlwind every day. I could never trust anyone and when I did, I would seek out anything to justify closing them out of my life. Those who actually did hurt me, I would internalize all of the pain to the core of my being which gave me further confidence in my belief that no one could be trusted. This is not to say that I am perfect or to imply that I have never hurt anyone; to say that would be untrue. However, I can say th… Continue
