Local Christian Authors Pledge their Support to WEAA, 88.9 FM


Baltimore, MD - Four Christian authors from Voices of Thanksgiving: Christian Authors on Tour (http://www.christianauthorsontour.com/) will participate in the WEAA, 88.9 FM Annual Membership Drive on Sunday, 4/19 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m during the Gospel Grace radio program.

Mitzi L. Carrasquillo is the author of In Jesus Name, Please Don't Touch Me There. This book was an assignment by God to Mitzi L. Carrasquillo; she was charged to write an inspirational and motivational book on how she overcame sexual abuse, rape and depression through the Word of God. Her personal prayer is that all women living in this same darkness will be called into God's Light;

Sharon Moore Stenhouse, aka a'Kihoro, is the author of Amani na Mapenzi: Love & Peace. a'Kihoro found her voice once she put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard. She discovered that writing poetry was a life changing catharsis. The book speaks in an inspiring spiritual voice to young adults, African-Americans, abused women, and just plain folks. Her new collection of poems adds a touch of "Mother Wit" that uses humor to draw upon life, Agapé love, self love, emotion and wisdom;

Kimberly Armstrong contributed a chapter on grief and loss to the anthology called The Christian Women's Guide for Personal Success. This book is a must-read for Christian women who desire support emotionally and spiritually. The twenty five chapter anthology is filled with wonderful tips for learning confidence-building, Christian parenting techniques, the Art of Forgiveness, living a joyful life, and developing increased self-esteem; and

Lynn Pinder is the author of Psalms of the Daughter. This eclectic collection of Christian-themed poems and short stories will surely tug at readers' heart strings. The writing - honest and intense - accentuates an urban flair on pressing social issues rarely portrayed from a Christian perspective. The book also includes a set of discussion questions appropriate for book clubs and Christian Bible studies.

These four authors will serve as representatives for the more than two dozen Christian authors who have participated since November 2008 in monthly fellowships sponsored by Voices of Thanksgiving: Christian Authors on Tour (www.christianauthorsontour.com). The Tour kicked off in November 2008 and is scheduled to end in November 2009. The Tour consists of a dynamic group of Christian fiction and non-fiction authors on fire for God. These writing warriors are committed to using their writing gifts as a tool for Christian ministry.

"We are challenging all Christian authors to pledge at least $35 to support public radio and WEAA, 88.9 FM Radio during the Gospel Grace radio program on 4/19 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. This radio station and the Gospel Grace radio program has been a tremendous source of inspiration and support to the community at-large," said Lynn Pinder - the Tour Coordinator.
